刘坤磊教授简介:

刘坤磊,博士,美国肯塔基大学机械工程系教授,肯塔基大学应用能源研究中心副主任。1988年东南大学电厂热能动力系本科毕业,1993年东南大学热能工程系博士毕业。长期从事燃煤发电过程污染物高效低成本控制技术开发,高效催化吸收及基于膜分离吸收剂富集与回收集成技术开发,固体燃料加压化学链燃烧/气化技术开发以及燃烧后二氧化碳捕集系统中金属元素迁移转化研究。

报告摘要:

In a typical 500 MW coal-fired power plant in the US, 1 MWh of electricity generated by coal takes about 700 gallons of water as well as produces several process streams containing government-regulated species such as selenium, arsenic, mercury and other heavy metals. Moreover, with recently promoting, CO2 capture to battle climate change can increase water consumption by approximately 23%. As a consequence, to mitigate potential impacts of water quality and availability and increase water use efficiency, University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research is aimed at developing alternative simplified ways to recycle and discharge process streams generated from coal-fired power plants in addition to conventional treatments such as membrane-based filtration and distillation. In this talk, emerging carbon-based capacitive deionization and advanced iron-based electrocoagulation will be presented.
